A historic day for Shinzen Dojo Berlin

Am Saturday, den 8. November 2025, nahm das Shinzen Dojo Berlin – als Mitglied des IKO World Zen‑Kyokushin Verbandes – beim 1. Zen-Kyokushin European Cup in Bydgoszcz, Polen, teil. Eine besondere Premiere: über 400 Teilnehmer aus zahlreichen europäischen Ländern kämpften in diesem neuen Format.

Guests of honor of world-class rank

For Europe and Poland, this tournament was something unique – with guests of honor present:

  • Soshi Kazuyuki Hasegawa, President of the organization, a living legend of Kyokushin.
  • Shihan Shigeo Niitsu, Tokyo representative, also an outstanding personality in the style.

Their presence gave the tournament special meaning and showed the great international orientation of Zen-Kyokushin.

Our commitment – with heart and courage

Shinzen Dojo Berlin was represented by a strong fighter:

  • Jessica Stazkiewicz, girls category under 10 years, +40 kg.

Although Jessica was eliminated in the 1st round due to a head strike (Wazari), we are not disappointed – but motivated and full of pride.

Because Kyokushin means: never give up.

OSU no Seishin!

Seminar with depth

Directly following the competition, the seminar began under the leadership of Soshi Hasegawa.

The history and development of the Kyokushin style as well as its future were impressively conveyed – and we now look forward with full energy to the Kyu and Dan examinations that will take place today and tomorrow.

What do we take with us?

  • The international stage shows: our dojo belongs to the big Kyokushin family.
  • Experiences like these promote growth – technical, mental, communal.
  • Defeats are also part of the path – they motivate further, strengthen the spirit.

Outlook

We thank Sensei Jaroslaw Remus as well as the Polish team for the hospitality, the professional organization, as well as the presence of the Japanese delegation Soshi Kazuyuki Hasegawa and Shihan Shigeo Niitsu.

We look forward to the upcoming examinations and further seminars under the World Zen-Kyokushin umbrella organization.

OSU!

IFK German Open 2026: A first competition that remains in memory Black belt

A white belt, his first tournament and straight away an experienced black belt as an opponent: For Victory Ogbonna, the IFK German Open 2026 became a special experience. In Naunhof, the 27-year-old from Shinzen Dojo Berlin competed for the first time in the Kumite +90 kg category. After regular fight time and extra time, he lost by Waza-ari, but showed fighting spirit and got back up after a hard head strike. A first competition, an important experience – and definitely not the last.
