Why Steglitz

Location benefits

Berlin-Steglitz is our family location for kids and youth karate in the southwest of Berlin. Families from Steglitz, Lichterfelde, Zehlendorf, Lankwitz, and Friedenau can find age-appropriate Kyokushin training in small groups here on Saturdays – without full contact for children.

Location in Steglitz

Gardeschützenweg in Berlin-Steglitz, in a residential area near Rathaus Steglitz. Parents can wait in the vicinity or run errands during training.

Small groups, parents welcome

Fixed groups with familiar trainers, transparent procedures, and age-appropriate training. Parents are allowed to watch at any time and stay in the area during training.

One fixed appointment per week

Saturday morning fits the family rhythm: three age groups train one after the other, siblings consecutively, parents drive once. The fixed weekly rhythm provides stability for children.

Safe, structured, with progress

Controlled training without full contact for children. Greeting ritual, warm-up, technique, and games provide a clear framework on the mat; belt tests make progress visible.

The decision

Why this location?

The Steglitz location is geared towards children and youth. Kyokushin basics, coordination, age-appropriate partner exercises, and dojo rules like respect and attentiveness are trained.

The location is in Steglitz near Lichterfelde and is also easily accessible from Zehlendorf, Lankwitz, Friedenau, and parts of Tempelhof. We deliberately bundle kids and youth training at one fixed location in the southwest of Berlin, instead of falsely pretending to offer multiple district locations.

Shinzen means friendship. The training is organized as a fixed dojo community: children train regularly in their age groups, know the trainers and training partners, and develop together over a long period.

IFK German Open 2026: A first competition that remains in memory Black belt

A white belt, his first tournament and straight away an experienced black belt as an opponent: For Victory Ogbonna, the IFK German Open 2026 became a special experience. In Naunhof, the 27-year-old from Shinzen Dojo Berlin competed for the first time in the Kumite +90 kg category. After regular fight time and extra time, he lost by Waza-ari, but showed fighting spirit and got back up after a hard head strike. A first competition, an important experience – and definitely not the last.
