What does Sensei mean?
Sensei (先生) is a Japanese term of address and literally means “one who has gone before” — someone who has been walking the path for longer and passes it on to others. In karate, it is used for teachers and masters who guide students on their path.
At Shinzen Dojo Berlin, Sensei Son Le is not just a “trainer” who imparts technique. He is a teacher, mentor, and role model — someone who has been walking the path of Kyokushin himself since 2008 and passes it on to every generation.
From Bremen to Germany representative

Born in 1985, Anh Son Le began Kyokushin Karate in 2008 with Sensei Yoshihiko Nakahata in Bremen (IKO1). First strikes, first kata, first falling technique. The foundation for everything that followed.
In 2010, he returned to Berlin and trained under Shihan Ingo Freier, who shaped him until 2019. Under Shihan Freier, he passed the Shodan examination (1st Dan) in Berlin in 2018.
In August 2019, he founded the Shinzen Dojo Berlin. First location: Möckernstraße 111 (2019–2022). Since 2022, the dojo has been training in Kolonnenstraße in Berlin-Schöneberg.
Since 2020, he has represented the IKO World Zen-Kyokushin as the Germany Representative. In 2023, he attained the Nidan (2nd Dan) at the Honbu Dojo in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, under examiner Soshi Kazuyuki Hasegawa. In 2025, the Sandan (3rd Dan) followed in Bydgoszcz under Soshi Kazuyuki Hasegawa and Shihan Shigeo Niitsu.
His path led from Kyokushin student in Bremen to Germany Representative, driven by the conviction that karate changes people.

Honesty
Honest with yourself, honest with others. Only those who know their limits can overcome them.
