Your child discovers their strength

At the Shinzen Dojo Berlin, children from age 5 learn Kyokushin Karate – playfully, safely, and without full contact. In small groups, your child grows in self-confidence, concentration, and respect. And has fun every week while doing it.

Karate from age 5

Five is the perfect age

Between the ages of five and eight, your child discovers the world anew – with a curious gaze, boundless energy, and a heart that absorbs everything. Now is exactly the ideal moment for their first martial art.

At Shinzen Dojo, children of this age do not learn hard techniques, but instead learn the basics playfully: listening attentively, concentrating, and treating each other with respect. And they have fun doing it – anew every week.

You don't need to worry: your child doesn't need to be athletic or particularly quiet. Every child starts exactly where they are.

  • Playful learning, no pressure to perform
  • No prior knowledge necessary
  • Every child is supported individually
  • Parents are welcome to watch the training

More than just a sport

What your child with us, they learn

01

Respect & Courtesy

Greeting, listening, following rules – values that show at home and at school.

02

Concentration

Focus exercises strengthen attention and self-organization – many parents report better grades.

03

Self-confidence

Every small success in the dojo makes you braver in everyday life. Those who feel secure carry themselves differently.

04

Coordination & Body Awareness

Movement games and first techniques promote motor skills, balance, and body awareness.

No surprises

This is how your first Saturday unfolds

So that you and your child know exactly what to expect – step by step.

01

Arrival: Be there about 10 minutes early. Your child changes clothes (comfortable sportswear is enough), you stay in the dojo and make yourself comfortable.

02

Warm-up & Play: Movement games loosen you up, awaken concentration, and are fun – before it gets technical.

03

Technique & Kihon: First stance and movement exercises in a group, clearly demonstrated and repeated – age-appropriate and playful.

04

Bowing & End: Cleaning up together, bowing as a sign of respect, short review. This is how every training session ends.

After regular fight time and extra time, he lost by Waza-ari, but showed fighting spirit and got back up after a hard head strike.
