Heartfelt congratulations on the wedding of Andy Ostermann

On Saturday, the 14.09.2024, the time had come: our long-standing student Andy Ostermann married his long-time partner Melanie in a beautiful ceremony. The celebration took place in a clubhouse in Berlin Hoppegarten, where close friends and family members gathered to witness this special moment.

A special invitation to Shinzen Dojo Berlin

At the special request of the bride and groom, some members of Shinzen Dojo Berlin were also invited to share this day with them. Among the guests were:

- Senpai Son Le (Andy's Sensei)

- Senpai Marco and his family

- Senpai Choi

- Senpai Yusuf

- Anna as photographer and friend

A “wedding kata” and the courage to take on a challenge

But that wasn't all: Andy took on the challenge of breaking five boards – a true test of strength and concentration. Although he could not break the boards completely, it was his courage that counted.

The way of Kyokushin – even in marriage

In recent years, Andy has not only shown his skills on the tatami mat but has also fought bravely at the Bavarian Open in Ingolstadt. A special moment was last year, when he proposed to his current wife Melanie in front of a crowd during the tournament.

“The way of Kyokushin teaches us that true strength lies in the balance between conflict and peace. May this balance accompany Andy and Melanie in the coming years.” – Senpai Son Le

This quote aptly summarizes what Kyokushin teaches us: The path of perseverance, patience, and mutual respect – values that are crucial both in karate and in marriage.

A strong sense of community at Shinzen Dojo

Shinzen Dojo Berlin stands not only for physical fitness and technical excellence in Kyokushin Karate but also for a strong sense of community. Andy is a valuable member of our Kyokushin Karate family, and it was a great pleasure for all of us to accompany him on this day.

Shinzen Dojo Berlin sends its heartfelt congratulations and will continue to stand by Andy's side – Osu!

IFK German Open 2026: A first competition that remains in memory Black belt

A white belt, his first tournament and straight away an experienced black belt as an opponent: For Victory Ogbonna, the IFK German Open 2026 became a special experience. In Naunhof, the 27-year-old from Shinzen Dojo Berlin competed for the first time in the Kumite +90 kg category. After regular fight time and extra time, he lost by Waza-ari, but showed fighting spirit and got back up after a hard head strike. A first competition, an important experience – and definitely not the last.
