Important: Hygiene and cleanliness during summer temperatures at the Shinzen Dojo

Dear members of the Shinzen Dojo,
I hope this message finds you all in the best of health and with plenty of energy for our training sessions. With summer, however, come higher temperatures and an increased risk of dirt and lack of cleanliness. Therefore, I would like to remind you today of the importance of maintaining hygiene and cleanliness at the Shinzen Dojo during this time.
Here are some important points that we should all adhere to:
- Personal hygiene: Please shower thoroughly before every training session to reduce sweat and odour. Always wear clean karate training gear and wear it exclusively inside the dojo. Remember that body odour is not only unpleasant for your fellow trainees but can also impair concentration and focus.
- Foot hygiene: Pay special attention to the cleanliness of your feet. Trim your nails regularly and wash your feet thoroughly before entering the dojo. Avoid walking barefoot through dirty areas to prevent infections and injuries, and use flip-flops in the outdoor area.
- Cleaning the dojo: We are collectively responsible for the cleanliness of the dojo. Please ensure that the training room is always tidy and clean. Take your personal belongings home with you and dispose of rubbish in the designated bins. If you sweat during training, please wipe the floor with the cleaning agents provided.
- Drinking water: Ensure you drink enough water during the breaks in training sessions. It is best to bring your own water bottle and fill it up before training. Please be considerate, avoid drinking in the dojo area, and drink your water in the hallway.
- General hygieneWash your hands regularly, especially before and after training. Use soap and warm water or disinfectant if available. When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or the crook of your arm.
By following these simple guidelines, we can ensure together that our training at the Shinzen Dojo remains pleasant and hygienic, even in summer temperatures. Let us treat each other with respect and care to create a positive training environment for everyone.
Thank you for your support and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns, I am happy to help.
Sunny greetings and OSU,

Sempai Son
