Tips on how you can support us during the Corona crisis

The situation caused by the coronavirus also presents us as a Karate Dojo with great challenges. Here is how you can support us a little in this difficult situation.

1. Kündige nicht deine Membership

We hope that the current situation and the resolution from the Federal Government (as of: 22.03.2020) will only last another two weeks, but we know that this condition will continue for longer. Therefore, we ask you not to stop your children's membership fees, because we need the fees to be able to cover the ongoing costs of rent, taxes, as well as the website. You are supporting us in this difficult time so that we can be there again for your children and yourselves with the usual motivation after the virus crisis.

2. If symptoms appear = Stay at home

Every single person counts at the moment. As of today (22.03.2020), the following measures in the fight against the corona virus apply nationwide - an overview:

  • Citizens are urged to reduce contact with other people outside of their own household members to an absolute minimum.
  • In public, wherever possible, a minimum distance of at least 1.5 metres must be maintained from anyone other than their companion. "Better two metres," said Chancellor Merkel.
  • Being in public spaces is only permitted alone, with one other person not living in the household, or within the circle of members of one's own household. More than two people are therefore not allowed to be together outside - unless they are people from the same household. It remains permitted, therefore, to go for a walk with one friend - but not with two friends at the same time. Exceptions apply to: funerals, use of public transport, and strictly necessary gatherings for social, professional, official, as well as examination and care-related reasons.

3. Wash your hands and karate gi

To continue to slow down infections, I am asking once again at this point to continue to carefully wash and clean your hands and your children's hands during the current crisis. Even after this difficult time, I see it as my duty as a karate instructor to pay special attention to these points, as we are always in contact in our sport.

At this point, once again, cleanliness and hygiene of one's own body as well as the karate gi and protective equipment have always been values in a traditional Karate Dojo and will remain so in the future and be placed in the foreground even more.

Finally, I would like to address you all personally:

"Dear karate friends, I hope that this message reaches you and your families in the best of health. The virus COVID-19, or corona virus as it is also called, has completely changed our everyday life. Never before have we or indeed humanity been in such a situation and challenge. Our free life as we know it is restricted to such an extent and at the same time demands our solidarity with one another.

We look from day to day at how our Federal Government and the Robert Koch Institute inform us daily and provide further news about our lives. Many decisions affect you and me directly, both professionally and privately. Therefore, I appeal to the spirit of our Karate Dojo to get through this difficult phase together.

It is especially important at this point to slow down the infection rate so as not to overload hospitals, doctors, and nursing staff. That is why I hope that you continue to support local businesses, families, and friends, as well as us, so that your children and families can continue to enjoy many leisure activities in the future when the crisis is over. With this in mind, stay healthy and hopefully see you soon! OSU Sempai Son Le
