Review of the 34th DKO German Championship - Experiences and Insights from the Shinzen Dojo

Berlin. The 34th DKO German Championship took place this year in Berlin-Köpenick at the Wilhelm-von-Siemens-Gymnasium.

The Shinzen Dojo was represented at the 34th DKO German Championship by six dedicated participants.

This event offered our fighters an excellent platform to put their skills to the test and gain valuable experience.

Die Herausforderungen und Achievements

  • Yusuf El-Madani shone in the junior Kata category and secured third place. A remarkable achievement that reflects his hard Kata training and dedication.
  • Mazen El-Sari competed despite a recently suffered muscle injury. Unfortunately, he did not achieve a placement in the junior category up to 80 kg. His courage and determination nevertheless deserve our utmost respect.
  • Mewes Zimmermann faced an equal opponent in the junior heavyweight class. Despite a strong performance, he did not achieve a placement.
  • Breno Mendes Dantas once again faced his opponent from the Bacak Dojo in the children's junior category up to 11 years. Despite health limitations, he showed great fighting spirit.
  • Lucía Rasper Martín and Anna Polonek competed bravely, but did not achieve placements in their categories. Their performances, especially in the face of new challenges, were nevertheless impressive.

Coaching and support

Our Senpais, Son Le and Marco Krüper, were in action as mat coaches for Mazen and Mewes. Their guidance and support were essential for the preparation and execution of the fights.

Reflections and quotes

Senpai Son Le reflected:

“It wasn't our championship. Injuries and a lack of preparation affected us. The others were better today and had luck on their side with the judges' decisions.”

Nevertheless, he remains optimistic:

“It always goes on, and we will become stronger!”

Passend dazu erinnern wir uns an die Worte von Sosai Mas Oyama:

“The true fight is with oneself.”

This reflects the importance of personal development and growth that we experience by participating in tournaments.

Gratitude

Special thanks go to all supporters, the organiser Sensei Nikita Bauer from the Kigai Dojo, the DKO, and everyone who made this event possible. Without their dedication and support, such an experience would not be possible.

Conclusion

We are taking important lessons from this championship and are already looking forward to upcoming challenges with excitement. Our journey continues, and we are determined to return stronger.

Osu!
