Successful examination and new brown belt
Berlin-Steglitz.
The Shinzen Dojo, led by the trainer team Sempai Son and Sempai Marco, did everything possible to enable the children to attend karate training in Steglitz despite difficult times. The children had to wait a long time for an opportunity for a belt examination this year.
Nevertheless, they prepared well for this exam, and after all, the Kyokushin motto applies at Shinzen Dojo:
German: Never give up!
Japanese: osu ni seichin (persevere against any resistance!)
The karate children proved exactly that. They were not deterred by the complicated circumstances and made the best of the situation. During the belt examination, exercises from all areas of Kyokushin Karate had to be demonstrated.
This began with warm-up exercises in which coordination, concentration, and sense of balance, among other things, were assessed. Then karate techniques such as punches, kicks, and defensive techniques had to be shown. Another important element was the Kata (fixed sequence of defense and attack), which exists in various versions.
The children had to demonstrate the following Katas depending on their grade or ability:
- 10. Kyu: Taikyoku Sono Ichi, Taikyoku Sono Ni
- 9. Kyu: Taikyoku Sono San
- 8. Kyu: Pinan Sono Ichi
- 7. Kyu: Pinan Sono Ni
- 6. Kyu: Pinan Sono San
- 5. Kyu: Pinan Sono Yon
- 4. Kyu: Pinan Sono Go
- 3. Kyu: Sanchin
- 2. Kyu: Pinan Sono Go
To conclude, it was about perseverance, and "Kumite" had to be mastered with the last bits of strength.

We are particularly proud and happy that our students have passed their respective gradings. At the same time, we are aware that this path must continue to be followed with focus: strengthening, improving, and developing children mentally and physically through Kyokushin Karate.
A big well done from the entire Shinzen Dojo coaching team, Sempai Marco and Sempai Son, and we also thank the supporters who helped us enable this grading on that day.
OSU!
