An Unforgettable Visit to Japan: Yusuf El-Madani's Experience at Tokyo Dojo

Tokyo. An extraordinary day after the All Japan Championship for Yusuf El-Madani.

His visit to the renowned Tokyo Hachioji Dojo, under the leadership of the esteemed Shihan Shigeo Niitsu (6th Dan), marked a special moment in his career and his life.

Leadership and Challenge in the Dojo as an Instructor

Yusuf was not only allowed to train alongside the Japanese black belts, but also to lead parts of the training.

This experience offered him the unique opportunity to prove his skills and his understanding of Kyokushin Karate. The highlights of the training were the kumite sessions against reigning champions of the All Japan Championship.

This was an excellent opportunity for Yusuf to measure himself against some of the best karatekas in Japan and gain valuable fighting experience.

Cultural Exchange and New Friendships

After the exhausting training, a social gathering followed at a traditional Japanese BBQ.

This time of exchange and relaxation allowed Yusuf not only to expand his technical skills, but also to forge deeper bonds with the Japanese karatekas. The shared meal proved to be the perfect opportunity to make new friendships and learn more about Japanese culture and hospitality.

The Importance of International Relations

Shihan Shigeo Niitsu, who is a driving force behind the IKO World Zen-Kyokushin Organisation and works closely with the President Soshi Kazuyuki Hasegawa (9th Dan), demonstrates through his openness and hospitality the deep importance of the friendship between Germany and Japan in the field of Kyokushin Karate. These relationships are not only of importance for technical development in karate, but also foster international cultural exchange.

A Look into the Future

Shinzen Dojo Berlin looks forward to further encounters and exchange programmes with Shihan Shigeo Niitsu and his dojo in Tokyo.

Senpai Son Le, our representative of Shinzen Dojo Berlin, expressed himself extremely positively about the existing relationships and the opportunities that arise for our students from them.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Shihan Shigeo Niitsu for the kind reception and the valuable learning experiences that Yusuf was able to have during his stay.

Yusuf's trip to Japan was more than just participation in a championship or simple training sessions; it was a life-changing experience that shows how Kyokushin Karate builds bridges between countries and people.

We look forward to further strengthening these relationships and continuing to enable our students to have such enriching experiences in the future.
