Karate in times of Corona
The time has come: Berlin is taking the long-awaited step out of the crisis and is once again allowing training to take place indoors. Our children, teenagers and adults are finally allowed back to the dojo in Bergstraße bzw. Möckernstraße. To ensure that each step moves us in the right direction, strict rules apply until further notice; we will continue to explain them here.
Distancing rules remain the most important commandment!
Below, we have summarised all the contents of the measures taken by the Berlin Senate:
Individual training Gyms and similar facilities, dance schools, commercial sports offers and sports facilities as well as private sports schools are allowed to open for public traffic again. The following guidelines apply:
- Training is contactless.
- Between those training, a minimum distance of 3 metres eingehalten.
- must be maintained. The operators will create attendance documentation recording the name, contact details, address, as well as the time and duration of attendance of every guest.
- The training group comprises a maximum of 8 people including trainers and supervisors.
- All premises with public traffic will be ventilated regularly and sufficiently.
- An increased cleaning and disinfection regime is implemented to avoid smear infections.
- Showers, saunas, swimming pools and similar facilities remain closed.
- There are no spectators.
We must please strictly follow these guidelines so that training can continue smoothly. For us, this means at this point:
- Karate training is provisionally designed for varied and technique-oriented training and is contactless without direct partner exercises.
- A distance of at least 3 metres must be maintained.
- Karate students are already in their karate gi before training begins.
- The Shinzen Dojo provides an online registration, where parents or adults zwingend are required to sign up! Beginner children (white belt) at: https://www.shinzen-dojo.de/anmeldeseite-eltern-corona Advanced children (from orange belt) at: https://www.shinzen-dojo.de/anmeldeseite-eltern-corona
- What does this mean for our courses for children and adults? By dividing the children's classes into beginners and advanced, we can only allow 8 participants including Sempai Son to take part in training per course; this means we have to change the trainees on a weekly rhythm so that everyone can train at least 2 times per month.
- The course hours for children and teenagers on Saturday will be limited to 45 minutes so that the two courses for beginners and advanced students do not collide
- The beginner children start from 9:30 to 10:15 am.
- The advanced children start from 10:30 to 11:00 am.
- The entrance, stairwell and courtyard are not waiting areas. If parents are waiting for their children, we ask them to do so only on Bergstrasse.
- What does this mean for our course for adults? Due to our small group of adults, there is currently no need for action and the courses will be continued under the requirements of Puls Yoga Berlin, which can be downloaded as a PDF attached.
From Thursday, 4 June, karate training for adults will begin from 20:00 in Berlin-Kreuzberg and for our children, training will begin on Saturday, 6 June, from 9:30 am with the beginners aged 6 and over and from 10:30 am training for the advanced students (from orange belt).
We ask all members to have understanding for the strict rules of the Berlin Senate due to the current crisis and hope that from the beginning of July the contact rules will be loosened further. Since we cannot allow all members to every course at the moment, we also ask for your understanding here and continue to hope for your commitment. Our karate dojo lives from your membership fees just to cover rent, running costs and running costs.
Let us be particularly attentive and understanding, so that regular operation can take place again as quickly as possible. We will keep you up to date if the rules change again over the course of the next few days or weeks. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Your Shinzen Dojo Sempai Son OSU!
